Eraserhead Press: Open to Submissions of Bizarro Fiction

Eraserhead Press is a small publisher based out of Portland, Oregon that focuses on publishing Bizarro Fiction. Be sure you are familiar with the genre before submitting.  They are not interested in any work cannot be categorized as Bizarro. They are a print and e-Book publisher.

Eraserhead Press was established in 1999. They have a specialized niche, they know their readership and they connect with them. Bizarro fiction isn’t for everyone, I’m not a big fan, but readers that love it, really love it. Review their catalog to get a better feel for what they publish. They’ve published many authors multiple times, which is always a good sign.

They publish novellas and novels that are between 20,000 and 100,000 words in length. They are looking for darkly absurd books that balance plot and character and have a strong emotional core. They do not want authors to experiment with form.

Their covers are well designed and reflect the genre well.

They are open to submissions from April 1st through June 30th. All submissions will receive a response by July 31st. They do not allow simultaneous submissions but you can submit more than one manuscript to them for consideration.

All submissions must be made by email. In the body of the email include your author bio and a 4-5 sentence summary. If your work is targeted at a certain audience, say vegan punks, mention it there. Submit your manuscript as an attachment, with a full page synopsis.

Remember to follow their submission guidelines. To learn more or to submit, go here
