Salamander: Now Seeking Submissions

Salamander is an established and respected print journal of poetry, fiction, memoir, and works in translation, published since 1992. Salamander is housed at Suffolk University and distributed internationally. They print two editions each year.

The journal is funded by a number of sponsors, including the National Endowment for the Arts. Salamander is a paying publisher.

Salamander is dedicated to showcasing both emerging and established authors, and they’re committed to featuring underrepresented voices.

Salamander is open for submissions now through April 1st, 2021, but they will take a holiday break from late December through early January. They do not accept submissions outside of this time.

Poets may submit up to five poems. Authors fiction and memoir may submit one full-length piece or up to three flashes. Authors should submit only once per reading period.

Salamander accepts submissions through an online submission manager. They don’t accept submissions via email or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors withdraw work published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.
