Brick Cave Media

They are a small Science Fiction and Fantasy focused press based out of Arizona. It was founded by Bob Nelson and J.A. Giunta. You can read their origin story here, but it essentially started out as a self-publishing operation, initially not even focused on books. In 2010 they published their first book. They have published the work of many authors since then. They now have a staff of four. Last year they published 7 books, so far in 2026 they have only published one book.

Their website is a little overwhelming and a little hard to navigate. The best way to see which books they have released recently is to go to their home page here and scroll down to recent releases. Their covers are hit and miss in my opinion, but largely genre-appropriate. They also really promote a book club they run. I will say having looked up some of their 2025 publications on Amazon, it doesn’t seem like they get very many reviews/sales via Amazon.

They say they are currently accepting Science Fiction and Fantasy. The also say “will consider additional genres based on submissions” which is a little confusing especially because they make it clear they are not currently accepting Non-fiction, Poetry manuscripts, Horror, or Romance. Their main focus very much appears to be Science Fiction and Fantasy.

They are open to submissions on an ongoing basis and have this calendar to indicate when to expect a response:

For Works Submitted in the Months of: Notifications are Sent:
January-March May
April- June August
July-September November
October-December February

All submissions must be made through their submission form. They have in-depth and detailed submission guidelines that must be followed, that you can see here.
