These magazines pay for fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. They’re a mix of literary and genre magazines.
Haven Speculative
They publish speculative fiction and poetry. They also publish climate crisis focused Dry and Wet issues each year; scroll down on the guidelines page for details. “We like stories that are subtle in their telling and stick with us long after we’ve finished, and we’re more likely to buy stories that balance a sense of wonder with a bold plot and emotional depth. For our two issues focused on the climate crisis, we’re particularly interested in publishing stories from people displaced by or threatened by the climate emergency (see our themes below). For our other four issues, we’re open to a wide variety of stories across the SFF and weird spectra (e.g., science fiction, fantasy, speculative horror, and beyond).” They also accept translations. During each submission cycle, they have one month reserved for submissions from underrepresented writers, and one month, for all writers. In August, they’re reading submissions from all writers.

The Ex-Puritan
They accept fiction, nonfiction, experimental/hybrid work, interviews, reviews, poetry, and poetry in translation. The deadline is 25 September, or when filled, for the next issue; they accept a limited number of fee-free submissions every month, and read year-round.

— The Cincinnati Review will reopen for print submissions on 1st September, and close when the submission cap is reached. They pay $25/page for prose and $30/page for poetry in the print journal, and $25 for miCRo posts or special features. Their submission portal will open during the reading period.)
Chestnut Review
Chestnut Review accepts fee-free submissions of flash prose, poetry, and art. They charge for submissions of longer prose of 1,000-5,000 words, while Black and Indigenous authors can also submit longer prose for free. They read throughout the year, with cut-off dates for issues.

Lit Fox Poetry Series

Cōnfingō Magazine
Cōnfingō is a UK-based independent publisher. Regarding the magazine, their website says, “Twice a year we publish a collection of new short fiction, poetry and art from around the world in a beautifully produced, print-only magazine.” Stories may be in any style or genre. Submission is via a form on their website.
