Wildness: Now Seeking Submissions

Wildness is an online literary magazine based in the United Kingdom, founded in 2015. They publish poetry and prose that explores the unknown, evokes the far-away voice of all that’s lost. They seek work by both emerging and established writers, and they showcase a wide variety of styles and literary forms. To get a sense of their aesthetic, you can read past issues online.

Wildness is published quarterly, and each issue features work from around twenty contributors. They accept submissions on a rolling basis. Submitting authors can expect a response within one month, and should query the editor if a submission is not acknowledged after that time.

Poets may submit poems 80 lines or fewer. Authors of prose may submit short stories, essays, or works of narrative nonfiction, 2,500 words or fewer. All submissions should be presented in a single file, and should be accompanied by a brief biographical statement written in third person.

Wildness accepts submissions via email, but not online or by post. They do not accept previously published work, including work published on blogs or personal websites. Authors published in Wildness retain copyright upon publication, but give Wildness first serial/electronic rights, as well as electronic archival rights. If the work is published subsequent to appearing in Wildness, authors agree to credit Wildness with initial publication.
