AM Ink: Now Accepting Manuscript Queries

Updated November 11th, 2024
AM Ink is a Western Massachusetts based press that initially published biographies, children’s books, novels, and short story collections.  They have published many books, including bestsellers. They have also sold television rights, and had movies made from their books. Most of what they have published has not been particularly successful though, and they recently shifted their focus to Children’s Books. 90% of what their main imprint, AM Ink now publishes is Children’s Books, and they are only open to work that is fully illustrated.  Dark Ink, their horror imprint, only puts out horror and dark thriller/mysteries as well as film based titles. They are not interested in work outside of either of these areas at this time. Reviewing their catalogue can be very helpful.

Their book covers vary wildly, in terms of quality. They do not publish Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Romance, Middle Grade, YA, Sci-Fi, Military, Poetry, Gothic Fiction, Children’s Chapter Books, Religion, Literary Fiction or Political based books. Novels, non-fiction, and short story collections must be over 60,000 words to be considered and they only consider children’s books that have been fully illustrated and are over 24 pages in length.

They now have different reading periods for different genres:

Short Story Collections – June Only

Horror Novels – July Only

Children’s Books – Any Time

Film Related Titles -Any Time

All Other Titles – June 1st to August 1st. To learn more, go here.

How to Get Started With Writing Essays

By Ratika Deshpande The essay is a form that can take diverse appearances: travelogues, memoirs, lists, drabbles. The following is a sort of beginner’s guide I wish I’d had when I…
