Asymmetry: Now Seeking Submissions

An online magazine of short speculative fiction, Asymmetry is seeking the best writing out there in the following categories: fantasy, science fiction, magical realism, experimental fiction, horror, slipstream, absurdism, weird fiction, bizzaro fiction, and anything else “interesting.” You can get a sense of what they like by browsing the magazine online, and you can get a sense of what they really like by browsing the winners of this year’s flash fiction contest, published this March.

Asymmetry publishes new stories every Monday, and sometimes more frequently. They published their first issue about a year ago, in March of 2017. Submitting authors can expect a response within two to four weeks.

Authors of speculative fiction may submit one story, up to 3,000 words. Asymmetry also accepts creative nonfiction, but they like it a little strange. They don’t accept multiple submissions.

At Asymmetry, they believe writers should be paid for their work. So, they offer $5 for each story, which is a token payment they aim to increase in time.

Asymmetry accepts submissions via email, but not online or by post. They don’t accept previously published work.

If you would like to learn more or submit to Asymmetry, please visit their website at https://www.asymmetryfiction.com/submission-guidelines/.
