Belletrist is an online and print journal produced by the students at Bellevue College. They are looking for poetry, fiction, nonfiction, playwriting, graphic literature, and art that wants to get noticed. They publish work by both emerging and established writers from around the country, as well as work by the students at Bellevue College. They feature a wide variety of styles and literary forms, and they serve a broad readership. Their print publication is available at book stores near Bellevue College, and you can also read their online magazine to get a sense of their style.
Belletrist is published once a year in print and online. Their 2016 print issue features work by around 30 contributors, and their online magazine includes work by additional authors. Right now through January 31, 2017, they are accepting submissions for their upcoming print edition. They will begin reading submissions in January, and authors submitting to the print publication can expect a response by the end of March. They also accept submissions for Belletrist online on a rolling basis. Authors submitting to Belletrist online can expect a response within three to six weeks.
Poets may submit any number of poems. Fiction and nonfiction writers may submit short stories, works of flash fiction, essays, and works of narrative nonfiction of any length. Belletrist also seeks comics, plays of any length, and works of visual art. Additionally, Belletrist online seeks films for publication. They accept submissions online, but not via post or email. Contributors receive a copy of Belletrist in print.
