Bright Flash Literary Review: Now Seeking Submissions

Bright Flash is a brand new online journal of flash fiction and nonfiction. They launched this year in June, and since then they’ve published eight shorts online. They accept a wide range of styles, and the best way to get a sense of their aesthetic is to read what they’ve published so far online.

Bright Flash is always open to submissions, and they publish on a rolling basis. Submitting authors can expect a response within one month.

Authors of fiction and creative nonfiction may submit flashes and shorts, 1,500 words or fewer. Bright Flash considers memoir submissions as well, also with a 1,500 word limit.

Bright Flash prefers shorts that tell a whole story. Although they accept very short pieces, under 50 words, they are looking for complete narratives.

All submissions should include a short third-person bio. Authors published in Bright Flash should wait at least six months before submitting again.

Bright Flash accepts submissions online, not via email or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions, but they ask that authors tell them right away if the submission is published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.
