CF4 kids is the children young people focused imprint of Christian Focus Publishing. Christian Focus Publishing is an evangelical Christian publisher based in Scotland. They say, “Our calling is to share the incredible message of the gospel and help people grow in their faith through the power of books.” The company as a whole has excellent distribution. We’ve reviewed Christian Focus Publishing separately as they have very different submission guidelines.
CF4Kids focus on publishing books that are “bright, fun and full of biblical truth, an ideal way to help children discover Christ for themselves. Our aim is to help children find out about God and get them enthusiastic about reading the Bible, now and later in their lives. As an evangelical, reformed, non–denominational publishing company we believe that God’s word is true and Jesus Christ is Lord.”
They have a wide range of series within this imprint that all have specific needs and focuses. They include a Full Colour Bible Story Books series, a black and white devotional series, puzzle and activity books and family devotions. They also have a number of biography focused series with different expectations for each. You can learn more details about all of their series here.
They are open to fictional books for children but have specific requirements pertaining to that that you must follow. They do not want authors to arrange their own artwork. They are not interested in poetry or rhyming books.
They encourage authors that have not yet written a biographical or fictional book, but have an idea for one that could be a good fit for CF4kids to read the guidelines, and to reach out if they thought it would fit of of the current series. They say “If it is not for us we will tell you and save you a lot of work and trouble. If you don’t want to contact us without something to show work out a synopsis, chapter headings and three sample chapters. Then a letter or email as initial contact is best.”
Authors who have completed their manuscript already or are writing for a series that isn’t biographical or fictional, must submit a completed Author information sheet, a synopsis, chapter headings, and three sample chapters. Submissions can be made by email or post. They try to respond to submissions within six months.
