Claret Press: Seeking Manuscript Submissions

Claret Press is a UK based press founded in 2015. It is an independent press that focuses on publishing works of political fiction and creative nonfiction. They publish a minimum of three books a year. Most books are offered in print and digital format. Some also have an audio option.

They do not have traditional distribution and you will not find them on the shelves in brick and mortar stores but you can order them from these stores.

Their book covers are generally good and the website is easy to navigate. They are focused on selling books and not on recruiting authors, which is always a good sign.

The genres they publish include historical work, both fictional and nonfictional, as well as action books, focusing on political thrillers and mysteries. They are also open to humorous books that are escapist but with a political edge.

They ask writers to submit the first 25 pages via email. They try to respond within a month.

You can learn more about submitting to them here.
