Curious Curls: Accepting Submissions

Curious Curls is a small press that published their first book in 2021. You can learn more about the press and its founder here. Curious Curls has published six books in the past three years. They started out primarily publishing fiction and poetry for adults but their most recent book is a children’s book. You can see their full back catalog here.

The website is clear and well organized. It’s focused on readers, which is also a good sign, but they don’t appear to be very focused on marketing and as far as I could tell based on Amazon and Goodreads, none of their books have sold particularly well.

Most small presses have a focused niche or genre, and Curious Curls does not. On their submission page they stress “We accept manuscripts for all creative works, but we are most interested in full-length fiction and poetry projects. Novels, collections, and chapbooks are some of the most common submissions. Do not feel limited, however! We also welcome nonfiction, children’s books, and other content as well. Just keep us curious!”

You can submit via a form on their webpage or via email. For detailed guidelines, please go here.

53 Literary Journals Seeking Genre Fiction
