Delmarva Review: Now Seeking Submissions

Delmarva Review is an established print and e-book annual seeking poetry, fiction, flash fiction, creative nonfiction, and book reviews for their November 2020 publication. This independent journal was established in 2008 by The Eastern Shore Writers Association. Since then, it has grown to include authors and readers from around the world. Delmarva Review also promotes literary activities and educational events to encourage and inspire committed readers and writers.

Delmarva Review is distributed internationally both in print and as an e-book. Each 300-page print edition of Delmarva Review features around 40 to 50 emerging and established authors. They publish annually, and right now through March 31, 2020, they’re seeking submissions for their 13th issue, scheduled for release in November 2020. Submitting authors can expect a response by May 2020, but might receive a reply much sooner, sometimes within a month.

Poets may submit up to six poems, 50 lines or fewer each. Authors of fiction may submit one story, 6,000 words or fewer. Authors or flash fiction may submit up to four flashes, 1,000 words or fewer each. Authors of creative nonfiction may submit one essay, 6,000 words or fewer. Authors or micro-narratives or flash nonfiction may submit up to four shorts, 1,000 words or fewer each. Authors should not submit work in multiple categories. Authors published in Delmarva Review receive one contributor copy.

Submitting authors can read more about the editors’ preferences on Delmarva’s submissions page. They have provided thoughts about what they’re looking for in each genre to give authors a better idea of what to submit.

Delmarva Review accepts submissions online, not via email or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors withdraw work published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.
