Dodging the Rain: Now Seeking Submissions

Dodging the Rain is a new blogazine publishing all genres of literature and artwork. Helmed in Galway, Ireland, Dodging the Rain is founded and edited by a multinational group of graduate students based at the National University of Ireland: Galway’s Masters in Writing Programme and Uversity’s Creative Process Masters of the Arts. They aim to showcase a wide variety of work by emerging writers and artists, and to foster new connections and ongoing relationships within the artistic community. You can get a sense of what they publish by reading Dodging the Rain online.

Dodging the Rain is published on the first of each month. They accept submissions all the time, but have a standing monthly submission deadline of the 18th for publication in the next month’s issue. They accept all kinds of writing, except work that promotes intolerance, hatred, or fear.

Writers in any genre may submit work up to 3,500 words in length. There is no minimum length for submissions. They are open to longer submissions, and writers interested in submitting longer work may query the editors to pitch the piece. Dodging the Rain accepts submissions via email, but not online or by post. Submissions should include a brief bio about the artist and the work being submitted in the body of the email.

If you would like to learn more or submit to Dodging the Rain, please visit their website at https://dodgingtherain.wordpress.com/submissions/.
