Faultline is a journal of fiction poetry, translations, and visual art, produced by graduate students at the University of California Irvine. They publish both emerging and established authors from around the world, and writing published in Faultline has gone on to win the Pushcart Prize.
Faultline was established in 1992, and since then they’ve published one edition each year. The journal is available both in print and online, and the most recent edition features writing from 36 contributors. You can read the journal online to get a sense of what they publish.
Right now through December 15, Faultline is accepting submissions. Poets may submit up to five poems. Authors of fiction may submit one piece, up to twenty pages (double-spaced, twelve-point font). Authors of translations may submit up to five translated poems or up to twenty pages of translated fiction or along with a translator’s note of 300 words or fewer.
Faultline accepts submissions online, not via email or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors withdraw writing published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.
Faultline only accepts submissions that follow the guidelines they’ve posted online. Please read these guidelines in full before submitting.
