Hypnopomp: Now Seeking Submissions

Hypnopomp is an online journal of uncanny, surreal, odd, and experimental fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction. The hypnopompic state is the ungraspable borderline between waking and sleeping, the undefinable point at which the oceanic dream world meets the shore of daily life. It’s the moment just before coming to, when dreams appear real and reality appears dream-like. It usually lasts only an instant, but at Hypnopomp it’s an endless state of mind.

Based in the United Kingdom, Hypnopomp has been published quarterly online since 2017. Right now through October 14th, they’re accepting submissions for their sixth issue.

Authors of fiction may submit stories of 100 to 2,000 words. Poets may submit up to five poems, totaling 300 lines or fewer. Authors of creative nonfiction may submit pieces from 1,000 to 3,000 words. Submissions should be formatted as PDF or Word documents, and should include a word count, author’s name, and links to websites or social media accounts associated with the author.

Hypnopomp accepts submissions via email, but not online or by post. They do not accept previously published work; however, they do accept work that has appeared on personal websites or blogs.

If you would like to learn more or submit to Hypnopomp, please visit their website at https://hypnopompblog.wordpress.com/submissions/.
