A project of Ursus Americanus Press, Landfill is an online journal of poetry and hybrid forms. Helmed in Chicago and New York, they publish a wide range of “beautiful weirdos,” from bizarre to banal. Their only guideline is: “Show us your teeth.”
Landfill has been published bimonthly for about a year now. They usually publish two authors per month. They accept submissions on a rolling basis, and submitting authors can expect a response within about three to four months. Before submitting, you can read Landfill online to get a sense of their style.
Poets may submit three to five poems, along with a short bio. Ursus Americanus Press also publishes chapbooks, and right now through May 31, they’re accepting chapbook submissions. Chapbook authors may submit manuscripts, 30-50 pages in length.
Landfill and Ursus Americanus Press accept submissions via email, not online or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions, but ask that authors withdraw work published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.
