Liminal Space Magazine is a new journal interested in publishing flash fiction, short stories, novel excerpts, poems, art, music, and anything else that suits their fancy.
They have published one issue in the past, which you can read for free here. Current submissions will be considered for their Fall 2022 issue. The founding editors, Alex Ankai and Gabrielle McClellan, study English at Harvard University and while Liminal Space Magazine is not an officially published by Harvard, there is a note at the bottom of every page that says “This publication was supported in part by the Harvard University Office for the Arts and the Harvard University English Department”.
You can learn more about the publication and see their masthead here. Their website is simple and easy to navigate, if a little generic.
They say turnaround time on submissions is between 4-6 weeks. All submissions must be made via email.
They are open to flash fiction and short stories up to 7,000 words in length. Formatting for prose should always be double spaced, and font should be in their words “gentle on the eyes”. In my experience most eyes are not bothered by Times New Roman.
They accept 3-7 poems at a time, up to 5 pieces of music as an MP3 attachment (160 MG size limit), and up to 3 pieces of video art as MOV, MP4, or M4V attachment (5000 MB size limit). Poetry generally should be single spaced.
