Loose ID: Romance Book Publisher Seeking Submissions

Last Updated December 2017: Unfortunately Loose ID will close their doors next year. You can read more about this here.

Loose ID is a romance publisher that publishes a large number of electronic books every year. They are open to reprints and works by brand new authors. They have four lines, Love Unleashed (hot romance),  On the Edge (taboo romance), Young Hearts (new adult romance), and Love Revisited (republished romance).

Authors have had a mixed experience with them. Many have published multiple books with them and have good things to say. Although these authors stress that the promotion is up to you.

Authors do praise the amount of editorial feedback and proofreading your novel receives before publication.

Other authors have had a more mixed experience. There is a very active thread discussing Loose ID over at Absolute Writes which is worth reading here before submitting. Authors do seem to agree on the fact that Loose ID primarily publishes books with a “high heat” level, in other words, a lot of sex.

For regular submissions, please submit your complete manuscript and a synopsis of the whole plot. In the body of the email include your name, pen name, contact email, and any previous publishing history, actual word count, genre, and a brief description of your story.

To submit to their reprints line submit the full manuscript along with proof that the rights have reverted to you and include your name, pen name, and contact email in the body of the email. Include the publication history of the story as well as reviews (if relevant), as well as the name, word count, genre, and a brief description of your story.

For the first few years of Authors Publish, even though I only reviewed romance publishers that were over a year old, I had no lack of options in terms of romance publishers to review. They were the easiest genre to find publishers open to direct submissions, other than those focused on non-fiction. Particularly in 2016…
