(mac)ro(mic): Now Accepting Submissions

(mac)ro(mic) is an online journal that specializes in flash fiction and flash nonfiction. They only publish work that is 1,000 words or fewer, and they pay $15 per piece.

Their website is basic, but well-designed, and visually orientated. Each published piece is accompanied by a photograph. You should read a few pieces here, before submitting, to know what kind of work they actually publish. I read about half a dozen pieces, and most were strong, but it wasn’t clear if they labelled what was fiction and what was nonfiction.

They also occasionally publish interviews, and they actively promote the work they publish on social media.

They only accept submissions via email. They have a tip jar, but submissions are free.

You can learn more about their submission guidelines here.
