Metafore Magazine: Now Seeking Submissions

Founded in 2016 by students of Maharishi University’s BFA in Creative and Professional Writing program, Metafore is a new electronic journal of metamodern transcendental literature. They publish poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and hybrid form writing that speaks with the ancient wisdom of the modern, workaday mystic. They’re looking for literature that touches the unfathomable depths of everyday life.

Right now through November 1, Metafore is accepting submissions for their second issue, which will be published in December of 2018. While they accept submissions year-round, submitting authors should note cutoff dates for specific issues. Metafore responds to submissions quickly, often in less than one month.

Poets may submit up to five poems. Authors of fiction and creative non-fiction may submit up to 6,000 words. Submissions should be accompanied by a 50 word bio.

Metafore delights in submissions from authors of all backgrounds, and they especially hope to hear from marginalized voices. They have a soft spot for work that resists genre classification, and sincere, meaningful experimentation is welcome.

Metafore accepts submissions online, but not via email or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions, but ask that authors immediately withdraw work published elsewhere. They don’t accept previously published work.
