Mythridate Magazine: Now Seeking Submissions

A brand-new independent print journal, Mythridate is “an indie magazine for neo-romantics.” With a longing for nostalgic beauty, Mythridate curates a collection of writing to satisfy today’s antique-loving artist.

Mythridate is an aesthetically pleasing, full-color print journal. They publish poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and visual art.

Now through December 1st, Mythridate is seeking submissions for their second print edition, scheduled for publication in Spring 2020. The theme is “decadence.” For this issue, they’re especially interested in work about wealth, corruption, royalty, indulgence, religion, and romance.

Poets may submit up to three poems, keeping in mind there’s limited space for poetry in the magazine. Authors of fiction may submit up to three short stories, 1,000 to 5,000 words each. Authors of nonfiction may submit up to three essays, op-eds, reviews, interviews, recipes, opinion pieces, or works of narrative nonfiction—500 to 5,000 words. Submitting authors can expect a response within two to four weeks.

Mythridate pays all authors published in the journals. Poets receive $15 per poem. Authors of fiction receive $20 per story. And authors of nonfiction receive $10 to $20 per accepted piece.

Mythridate accepts submissions via email, not online or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors withdraw work published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.

If you would like to learn more or submit to Mythridate, please visit their website here.
