Open: Journal of Arts & Letters – Now Seeking Submissions

A new online platform for aesthetic endeavors, Open: Journal of Arts & Letters features a broad range of fine arts: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, book reviews, mixed literary media, screen writing, playwriting, digital arts, sculpture, pottery, printmaking, painting, photography, ceramics, and textiles, as well as interviews with writers, artists, musicians, and performance artists. They aim to curate and promote contemporary fine arts by both emerging and established writers, artists, musicians, and videographers from across the globe.

Open: Journal of Arts & Letters accepts submissions year-round. Submitting authors can expect a response within twelve weeks, though some authors will receive a response sooner. Submissions are free to authors who subscribe to the journal, and it’s free to subscribe. The first 100 submissions received in each category each month are also free. Additionally, they will always keep one submission category “fee-free,” regardless of the number of submissions received.

They are seeking the following for online publication: flash fiction, creative nonfiction (essays and memoirs), and poetry of all kinds. They are also seeking audio and video recordings of prose, poetry, and drama. The journal will also accept queries for academic articles, serialized long fiction, craft essays, book reviews, art reviews, gallery reviews, music reviews, collaborations, and interviews.  All submissions should include a brief cover letter detailing artistic influences and background, artistic experience, and major publications and awards, if any.

Open: Journal of Arts & Letters accepts submissions online, but not via post or email. They accept simultaneous submissions, but ask that authors notify them if their work is published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.

If you would like to learn more or submit to Open: Journal of Arts & Letters, please visit their website.
