Pan Macmillan Australia: Now Accepting Submissions

Pan Macmillan Australia is open to direct submissions. They are the Austalian imprint of Macmillian, one of the big five publishers. This is the only way to submit to Macmillan directly. They have excellent distribution in Australia.

This is what they are currently seeking according to their website:

  • Fiction
    • Contemporary drama, sagas, psychological suspense, crime and thrillers, historical, literary
  • Non-fiction
    • Narrative non-fiction, contemporary issues, memoir, history, true crime, lifestyle and health, mind body spirit
  • Children’s books & young adult fiction
    • Junior and middle grade fiction, young adult/crossover fiction

They used to be open only the first Monday of every month, but they are now open to submissions year round.

They ask that you send the first 50 pages of your manuscript along with a synopsis that is no more than 300 words in length as separate word or PDF documents. You can submit multiple manuscripts as long as they are not in the same series.

They have additional questions outlined on their form, and you can see and review the questions at any time. The form does not only appear when they are open to submissions.
