Prose Poems is an online journal dedicated entirely to prose poetry. They do not publish any other form of poetry, though they do occasionally publish single-paragraph prose. You can read the journal online to get a sense of what they like.
Prose Poems was launched in 2023, and since then they’ve published nine issues. Each recent issue contains two poems by each of four poets. Prose Poems is published monthly in the winter, November through March, and isn’t published during the spring and summer months.
Poets may submit up to five prose poems, one page or shorter each. The journal also accepts single-paragraph flashes and short shorts. They do not accept any other form of poetry.
Prose Poems does accept side-by-side translations, as long as the poet has the rights to the original text.
Authors should send only one submission at a time, and should wait a while to submit again (unless otherwise requested).
Authors published in Prose Poems receive $10 for their two poems.
Prose Poems accepts submissions via email, not online or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors withdraw poems published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.
Prose Poems does not accept writing generated by AI. They only accept submissions that follow the guidelines they’ve posted online. Please read these guidelines in full before submitting.
