Quince is a brand new online journal of writing and art from around the world. They publish a wide variety of creative work: poetry, fiction, visual art, photography, film, life writing, stage plays, and screenplays. Unpublished, emerging, and established authors and artists of all varieties are invited to submit.
Quince published their first edition earlier this summer. It features fifteen pieces on the theme of “love.” Right now through August 31, they’re seeking submissions for their second issue. The theme is “street life,” which they define as, “life beyond the boundaries of home—a psychological space as much as a real one.”
Poets may submit up to five poems. Authors of fiction and life writing may submit up to 3,000 words. Authors of stage and screen plays may submit up to ten pages or ten minutes of material. Filmmakers may submit one short film, ten minutes or fewer. And visual artists and photographers may submit up to five images. All submissions should include a brief bio, 50 words or fewer.
Quince accepts submissions via email, not online or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors immediately withdraw work published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.
