Rogue Wolf Publishing: Accepting Manuscript Submissions

This small Romance-focused press was founded in 2024. Their tagline is “Where stories run wild.” They are currently open to submissions in the following subgenres of Romance: Fantasy romance, Paranormal romance, Dark romance, Billionaire romance, Clean/sweet romance, and Historical romance.

There isn’t much background on the company. Near the top of the home page they have an About Rogue Wolf section. Their “Our background” section of that page does not have a full mast head, but does mention that Amy Van Horn is the founding editor. I couldn’t find anything else about Horn online, and I do not know if she has any additional experience. The submission address has her name in it. The background section also says, “We work with a vetted team of professional editors, designers, and production specialists, many of whom collaborate with multiple publishers and authors.” This seems to imply that Horn is the only full time staff member and she works mostly with freelancers.

Their covers are mostly genre-appropriate, although some (not all), appear to contain generative AI elements. I noticed too on the author page that some of the authors working under pen names appeared to use generative AI created images. This does not seem to be an across the board decision, and I don’t see any signs of work being written by generative AI, but please look at the covers carefully. I would not have reviewed them if I saw any signs of the work being written by generative AI, or if they were using generative AI for images across the board. Also I wasn’t fully positive about any of the covers/images (outside of the authors photos) using generative AI. I have not read any of the books myself.

Their ebooks are for sale across a broad spectrum of platforms. Some of their books, like Back to the Titanic by ID Johnson have sold well, as you can see here. Although they do regularly have deals or give away books, which does help with the review numbers, but doesn’t actually equal profit for the most part.

They ask that interested authors submit the first 3 chapters, alongside a query letter, and an overview via email. They do mention providing “excellent editing, covers, and some marketing” but they also ask for “evidence of your social media following as we still expect our writers to help market their  books”. They stress that “A demonstrated reader-facing presence helps us asses market fit for launch strategy.” They stress that they are looking for stories with “strong characters, a plot driven narrative, lots of twists and turns, and interesting dialogue.”
