Saqi Books was founded in London in 1983. The roots of Saqi Books are in Lebanon and they focus on publishing trade and academic books on the Middle East and North Africa written by authors based all around the world. They publish around twenty titles a year. They have been awarded the British Book Industry Award for Diversity in Literature, the IPG Diversity Award, as well as the Arab British Culture and Society award. You can learn more about them here.
They are distributed by Consortium. Their covers are generally excellent and genre-appropriate.
They are currently open to submissions of both fiction and nonfiction. If you spend time with their catalog here it is easy to see what they are interested in publishing. Please do not submit to them if you cannot see your work fitting in with their current catalog.
They only respond to submissions they are interested in publishing. If you do not receive a reply within eight weeks, consider your work declined.
They have detailed submission guidelines for fiction and nonfiction work. Please read them carefully and follow all of their guidelines before submitting.
