Skylight 47 Poetry: Now Seeking Submissions

Skylight 47 is a poetry journal produced in Galway, Ireland and printed newspaper style. The journal is affiliated with Galway’s Over the Edge reading series and supported by the Galway community (the Arts Council, Galway City Council, and Galway County Council). They accept submission from around the world.

Recent issues of Skylight 47 are only available for purchase—in print or as downloadable PDFs—but some past issues are available online for free. Most issues contain poems from around fifty contributors.

Right now, Skylight 47 is accepting submissions through October 15 for publication in early 2026. Poets may submit up to three poems, 40 lines or fewer each. Poets published in Skylight 47 will receive 40 euros per poem and a free print copy of the magazine.

Skylight 47 does not accept fiction or nonfiction.

Skylight 47 also features one artist in each issue. One work of art is showcased on the cover, and six to ten of the same artist’s pieces are featured in the magazine. Interested artists may submit a portfolio during the regular submission period. The featured artist will be paid 240 euros and will receive a free print copy of the journal.

Skylight 47 accepts submissions via email, not online or by post. They do not accept previously published work.

Skylight 47 only accepts submissions that follow the guidelines they’ve posted online. Please read these guidelines in full before submitting.
