Updated December 21st, 2023: They have temporarily closes to submissions, probably after hitting caps. Please check back in at the start of the next month.
SPRY Lit is open to submissions of fiction, creative-nonfiction, and poetry, as well as art. You can get a good feeling for what they have are interested, by reading their previous issue for free, here. It was published in November 2023. They describe themselves by saying “This is a place for people who excel at taking risks, who thrive under pressure—for people whose words and rhythms are spry.”
They read all submissions blind, which is to say they read them without identifying information. You can include identifying information in the cover letters, because it is not viewed by the readers.
SPRY Lit is open to submissions of up to 2500 words in terms of creative nonfiction and fiction. Poets and flash writers can submit up to three pieces at a time, all in one document. They are also open to art submissions. Please only submit to one category at a time.
Prose should be double spaced. Simultaneous submissions are allowed as long as you make it clear in your cover letter that your submission is a simultaneous one, and if you withdraw it as soon as it has been accepted elsewhere.
They try to respond to all submissions within 4 months. All submissions must be made through Submittable.
