Stackpole Books was founded in 1927. From the very start they’ve published books in about the Outdoors, Crafts and Military History. Their particular focuses include fly fishing, nature guide, Civil War and World War II History, military reference, and specialty crafts and hobbies. They are an imprint of Globe Pequot, which you can learn more about here.
They currently have four editors open to submissions, one in craft, one in fishing, one in history/military history, and one open to all other submissions that fit within the categories that Stackpole publishes. You can see the contact information for the editors here.
They ask that you include the following in your proposal:
- A description of the book.
- A table of contents, a sample chapter, and sample photographs or art if applicable.
- An overview of your platform, experience, and online presence (tell us how you will help promote the book).
- A market analysis––Who will buy this book? Why publish this book now? Include a list of current competitive titles.
