The Dillydoun Review: Now Seeking Submissions

The Dillydoun Review is a brand new online journal of fiction (including flash), poetry (including prose poetry), creative nonfiction, articles, essays, interviews, and reviews. A “dillydoun” is a “little lullaby,” and just as lullabies present complex subjects simply and succinctly, The Dillydoun Review is looking for writing that’s cogent, clear, and layered with meaning.

The Dillydoun Review will be published quarterly online. They also plan to publish a daily blog with reviews, interviews, essays, fiction, and poetry. In the future, they hope to host literary events and workshops, sponsor scholarships, and pay authors published in their journal.

Right now, The Dillydoun Review is accepting submissions for their first issue, scheduled for publication in December 2020. They accept submissions year-round, and submitting authors can expect a response within four weeks.

Poets may submit up to three poems. Prose poems can be 50 to 1,000 words. Authors of fiction may submit one short story, 1,000 to 5,000 words, or up to three flashes, 50 to 1,000 words each. Authors of creative nonfiction may submit one piece, 1,000 to 5,000 words. The Dillydoun Review also accepts articles, interviews, and reviews of any length.

The Dillydoun Review aims to publish a wide range of voices, and they plan to feature both emerging and established authors.

The Dillydoun Review accepts submissions using an online submissions manager. They also accept submissions by post, but they do not accept submissions via email. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors withdraw work published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.

The Dillydoun Review will not consider work that does not follow these submission guidelines. Please read their guidelines in full before submitting. If you would like to learn more or submit to The Dillydoun Review, please visit their website here.
