The Fieldstone Review: Now Seeking Submissions

The Fieldstone Review is an established online literary journal produced by the graduate students at the University of Saskatchewan. They publish poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and literary reviews written by authors from around the world. They showcase a wide variety of forms and styles, focusing on literary and experimental writing. You can read past issues online to get a sense of their style.

The Fieldstone Review has been published annually since 2006. Right now through June 15, they’re open to submissions for their 2021 edition, themed “Escapism.” They give preference to submissions that respond to this theme; however, they welcome non-themed submissions too.

This year, the Fieldstone Review is choosing one submission for a $100 CAD prize. The winning submission will be chosen by the editors.

Poets may submit up to five poems. Authors of fiction or creative nonfiction may submit one piece, 2,500 words or fewer. The Fieldstone Review also accepts literary reviews. Reviews should address works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, film, or television written by Canadian or Indigenous authors.

Authors may submit work in more than one genre; however, authors should not send multiple submissions within any one genre category. The Fieldstone Review reads submissions blind, so authors should take care to remove any identifying information from the submitted writing.

The Fieldstone Review accepts submissions via email, not by post or through an online submission manager. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors withdraw work published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.

The Fieldstone Review only accepts submissions that follow the guidelines they’ve posted online. Please read these guidelines in full before submitting.
