The History Press is based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. Their name is pretty self explanatory, they publish historical nonfiction, as well as general nonfiction. They do consider memoirs. They do not consider direct submissions of poetry or fiction, so please do not submit it to them. You can learn more about the company here. You can see the books they’ve previously published here.
They allow submissions of proposals via email. Initially start by sending a synopsis which is 200 words or less and biographical note. When sharing your proposal it should include the working title or subject in the subject line of the email. Within the email itself include your full contact information including name, title, email address, postal address, and phone number.
Their complete submission guidelines go into the details they want included in the synopsis and biographical note. Please spend time on their submission guidelines page, reading it carefully, if you plan to submit.
If you have not heard from them in six weeks, please assume that they have rejected your work.
