Twin Bird Review: Now Seeking Submissions

Twin Bird Review is a brand new journal of fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, artwork, and comics. The like writing that’s imaginative: “We love the metaphorical, the speculative, the fantastical, the whimsical, and the strange.” They also value writing that’s sincere: “We care less about perfection and more about sincerity; less about looking good and more about authenticity.”

Twin Bird Review is putting together their first issue right now. Once they start publishing, they plan to produce two online editions each year. They aim to showcase both emerging and established authors, but they’re especially passionate about publishing new voices. They also aim to amplify voices underrepresented in publishing.

Twin Bird Review accepts submissions on a rolling basis. Authors of fiction may submit short stories, 3,000 words or fewer, or flashes. Poets may submit up to five poems, 100 lines or fewer each. Authors of creative nonfiction may submit essays, 3,000 words or fewer. Twin Bird Review also accepts comics and visual art. Submitters can expect a response within two months.

Twin Bird Review is not currently able to pay contributors, but they hope to do so by 2024.

Twin Bird Review accepts submissions via email, not online or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors withdraw work published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.

Twin Bird Review only accepts submissions that follow the guidelines they’ve posted online. Please read these guidelines in full before submitting.
