Weldon Owen Books: Now Accepting Manuscript Submissions

UPDATED MARCH 16TH 2020 – No longer open to direct submissions

Weldon Owen is an imprint of Bonnier Publishing US, which is a division of Bonnier Publishing, a large UK-based company. Weldon Owen Publishing focuses on high-quality adult nonfiction. They publish largely illustrated lifestyle books in the categories of food and drink, sports and fitness, popular science, craft and design, as well as popular culture. They publish around 100 books every year.

The books they publish are beautiful and well designed. I suggest browsing their catalog before proceeding so you have a good idea of what kind of books they are interested in publishing. You can see their catalog here.

Weldon Owen is open to submissions, but they do not have submission guidelines, just a submission email address. You can find their submission email address here.

They don’t state this explicitly, but I think they don’t respond to submissions unless they are interested in your book. I would wait six months before assuming rejection.

Bio: Emily Harstone is the pen name of an author whose work has been published internationally by a number of respected journals. She is a professional submissions adviser. You can follow her on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/emilyharstone/

How to Get Started With Writing Essays

How to Get Started With Writing Essays

By Ratika Deshpande The essay is a form that can take diverse appearances: travelogues, memoirs, lists, drabbles. As exciting as its variety feels, I’ve also found it frustrating that there are hardly any guides detailing how to work with the form. The following is a sort of beginner’s guide I wish I’d had when I…
