Windhorse Publications: Manuscript Proposal Guidelines & Information

Windhorse Publications is an independent publisher of English-language nonfiction books on Buddhism, meditation and mindfulness. The work they publish is for Buddhist practitioners of all stages as well as for non-Buddhist readership. They also say, “We are also interested in books exploring new directions in Buddhist scholarship.”

Like most faith-based publications, they are only interested in new book submissions and inquiries from Buddhists, with a particular focus on members of the Triratna Buddhist Community. They are most interested in “manuscripts that are well written and researched, and enrich the practice, understanding, application and scholarship of Buddhism and mindfulness today.” You can get a feel for what they publish by seeing their catalog here.

They are not considering biography, poetry, fiction, or children’s books. They are open to proposals sent via email. They will also consider overviews of your book idea or manuscript. They are distributed through Consortium.

You can see their full submission guidelines here.
