Winged Penny Review is a new online publication of poetry and fiction. They aim to weave contemporary craft with timeless language, and they’re especially interested in exploring how universal emotions are expressed and preserved through writing. They also hope to cultivate a space where all creative voices are valued.
Now through 31 October, Winged Penny Review is seeking submissions for their first issue, scheduled for publication this fall/winter. After that, they plan to publish quarterly: in November, February, May, and August. They hope to publish both emerging and established authors of all ages and backgrounds.
Poets may submit three to six poems. Winged Penny Review accepts all forms and styles of poetry, including prose poems and experimental pieces. Authors of fiction may submit up to two stories, 3,000 words or fewer each. Authors may send up to three total submissions at a time and can expect a response within three to six weeks.
Winged Penny Review accepts previously published writing. Authors should note any previously published writing in a cover letter and should provide details about the original publisher.
Winged Penny Review accepts submissions via email, not online or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors withdraw writing published elsewhere.
Winged Penny Preview only accepts submissions that follow the guidelines they’ve posted online. Please read these guidelines in full before submitting.
