Wyldcraft: Now Seeking Submissions

Wyldcraft is an online journal of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and experimental forms, “dedicated to elevating the voices of emerging writers.” They define themselves as, “a grassroots, female-run publication,” and they like writing that’s spiritual (but not necessarily religious), ecological, feminist, and witty. They also aim to be an inclusive journal that removes traditional barriers to publication.

Launched in 2023, Wyldcraft publishes two issues each year: one in the spring/summer and another in the fall/winter. So far they’ve published three issues, each with writing from around 10 to 15 contributors. The writing is showcased within creative, thoughtfully-designed layouts full of colorful artwork.

Now through March 1, Wyldcraft is open to submissions for their spring/summer 2025 issue, themed “Handmade Tales”. They are open to a broad range of interpretations of the theme.

Authors of fiction and creative nonfiction may submit up to 1,500 words. Poets are asked to use their own judgement about the length of their submission. Wyldcraft also accepts all types of experimental forms, including recipes, obituaries, grocery lists, spells, legal citations, and horoscopes. They say, “we’re open-minded”.

Wyldcraft accepts submissions via email, not online or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors withdraw writing published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.

Wyldcraft does not respond to all submissions; for the most part, they only respond to submissions that are accepted for publication. Authors who have not heard back within six weeks should assume their submission was declined.

Wyldcraft only accepts submissions that follow the guidelines they’ve posted online. Please read these guidelines in full before submitting.
