New Nottingham Journal: Now Seeking Submissions

New Nottingham Journal is a print publication of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and slow journalism, published in Nottingham. They just launched last year, in 2025, and their first issue, which features 44 contributors from around the world, sold out. They showcase established authors alongside new voices.

The first issue of New Nottingham Journal was sold in bookstores, libraries, the Nottingham Tourism Center, and online. It features black and white photography alongside writing. It’s also available as a paid digital download.

New Nottingham Journal nominated authors published in the first issue for the Pushcart Prize. They also hosted a launch party at Nottingham Central Library.

Now through May 16, New Nottingham Journal is seeking submissions for their second issue. Poets may submit up to four poems, 2,000 characters (including spaces) or fewer each. Authors of fiction, creative nonfiction, and slow journalism may submit pieces up to 4,000 words. New Nottingham Journal also accepts translations, as long as the original writing has not previously appeared in English.

New Nottingham Journal accepts submissions via email, not online or by post. They do not accept previously published work.

New Nottingham Journal only accepts submissions that follow the guidelines they’ve posted online. Please read these guidelines in full before submitting.
