Bare Fiction: Now Accepting Submissions

Bare Fiction Magazine is a print and digital edition literary magazine based in the United Kingdom, which launched in December 2013. They publish poetry, fiction, and plays, as well as literary reviews and interviews with writers.

Though young, Bare Fiction has a clear goal: to challenge readers with mind-bending new writing. They aim to publish unheard voices with risk and depth. The first issue of Bare Fiction garnered praise from members of the writing community who support their efforts to break genre barriers by publishing plays alongside poetry and fiction.

Bare Fiction will be published three times a year: in March, July, and November. They read submissions year-round. Writers may submit work online, but not via post or email. Bare Fiction accepts simultaneous submissions, but does not accept work that has been previously published in print. They do accept work previously published online, and ask that writers note these publications in a cover letter.

Poets may submit up to five poems, with a maximum of 160 lines. Fiction writers may submit pieces of any length. Playwrights may submit short plays or play extracts up to ten pages in length, along with a cover letter that includes a full synopsis. Playwrights may also include performance details in their cover letter if applicable.

Bare Fiction also accepts published books for review. Books may be sent to Bare Fiction via post, and must have been published no more than six months prior to submission.

If you would like to learn more or submit to Bare Fiction, please visit their website at http://www.barefictionmagazine.co.uk/submissions/.
