Black Scat Books is a small press based in San Francisco. They are an independent press focused on publishing books of sublime art & literature— absurdist fiction, dada, surrealism, pataphysics, erotica, and works in translation.
They regularly publish anthologies, so that is a good way to start submitting to them. The one they are seeking submissions for now is a sequel to their 2017 anthology, Le Scat Noir Encyclopaedia, Entries must be no longer than 300 words in length. You can learn more here. The deadline is December 1st 2020.
They are also collecting submissions for the next two issues of the Black Scat Review, which are both themed. If you scroll down here you can find out more about submitting to their literary journal.
They ask you not to submit unless you have read an issue. The back issues are for sale here.
Right now they are only open to queries for their NEW URGE imprint. They are interested in full-length erotic novels, collections of short fiction, and translations their Pocket Erotica series. All submissions must be made via email. The sparse details are at the bottom of this page.
If you are serious about submitting, I encourage you to buy one of their books first.
They appear to have a lot of local support but do not seem to have distribution.
