CSIRO Publishing

CSIRO Publishing is Australia’s largest science publisher of books, peer-reviewed journals, and magazines. The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) was founded in in 1916. In 1948, the CSIRO scholarly journals program started, and only in 1995 was CSIRO Publishing established as a stand-alone imprint and publishing house. They still operate as as a not-for-profit, editorially independent business unit within CSIRO.

Most of what they publish is scientific books on a wide range of topics. You can get a better feel for what they publish by going here. They also publish children’s titles, but are not open to submissions of children’s books at this time. If you do want to submit a proposal to them, you can learn more here. They do not want to see complete manuscripts. When you submit your work, you are to submit no more than 30 pages of the manuscript to them, alongside the other information that they request.

Additionally these pages are also helpful: For Authors, and The Publishing Process. They make it clear that they have an established marketing team, and that they expect author support.
