Prairie Fire
This Canadian literary magazine is currently open for submissions of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry via Submittable. Postal submissions are open year-round.

Chestnut Review
They accept fee-free submissions of flash prose, poetry, and art. They charge for submissions of longer prose of 1,000-5,000 words, while Black and Indigenous authors can also submit longer prose for free. They read throughout the year, with cut-off dates for issues.

Baneberry Literary
This is a new horror annual, and they’re reading for their first issue. Their tagline is ‘Unsettling stories for unquiet minds’. They want literary horror / thriller stories. “We consider fiction stories between 500 and 7000 words with horror elements. We take a broad view of the horror genre, from the conceptual and ethereal to the visceral and gory. We look for prose style and thematic complexity over commercial formula.”

One Story
This well-regarded literary magazine publishes one short story a month. They publish literary fiction. They also accept translations. They accept reprints as well, but only of stories that have appeared in print outside of North America. They opened for submissions on 8th June, and will stay open till they hit a submission cap. Apart from cash payment, writers also get 25 contributor copies.
