Dishsoap Quarterly: Now Seeking Submissions

Dishsoap Quarterly is an online publication of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Self-described as a “nerdy, uncool, earnest magazine,” that is “too bad at math to care about measuring accolades against one another,” Dishsoap quarterly has a fun, contemporary online presence. They accept a wide range of styles, and you can get a sense of what they publish by reading the thoughtfully-designed journal online.

Dishsoap Quarterly was launched in 2020. They started by published full issues, but now they publish one piece each week, on Tuesdays. Because of that, they are open to submissions year-round.

Poets may submit up to three poems of any length. Authors of prose (fiction and nonfiction) may submit up to two pieces, 1,200 words or fewer each. They also accept prose poetry and hybrid writing.

Dishsoap Quarterly has a fast response time. They respond to most submissions within one week, and they respond to all submissions within two weeks. It’s also worth noting that although Dishsoap Quarterly likes to publish new writing, they do accept previously published work.

Dishsoap Quarterly accepts submissions online using Google Forms, not via email or by post. They accept simultaneous submission but ask to be notified if submitted writing is published elsewhere.

Authors who are published in Dishsoap Quarterly should wait six months before submitting again. And authors whose submissions are rejected should wait at least two months before sending more writing.

Dishsoap Quarterly only accepts submissions that follow the guidelines they’ve posted online. Please read the guidelines in full before submitting.
