Epic: Accepting Submissions

Epic focuses on publishing Young Adult (YA) and New Adult (NA) Romance. They are part of Entwined Publishing, which used to be called The Totally Entwined Group, up till the end of September. You can learn more about Entwined Publishing here. I really encourage you to read that review also for larger context about the company.

Epic is technically a brand new imprint, at least in terms of its name and branding. But back when Entwined Publishing was called The Totally Entwined Group, they had a YA and NA focused imprint for many years, called Finch. The aesthetics and focus of the Epic imprint very much seems different. If what they end up actually publishing is different, we will see.

This is how they describe what Epic is focused on: “Epic is about the vibrant and dynamic world of young and new adult romance. We are seeking submissions that capture the essence of youthful passion, the challenges of coming-of-age, and the excitement of new beginnings. Whether your story is set in a high school, college, or a fantastical world, we’re looking for narratives that resonate with young readers and evoke strong emotions and memorable experiences.”

Within this context they are currently seeking romance manuscripts between 50,000 and 100,000 words, in the following subgenres:
Action/Adventure, Alternate Reality, Angels and Demons, Dark Romance, Fantasy/Romantasy, Paranormal, Vampires, Werewolves.

They also have four submission calls along specific themes at the bottom of the page if you scroll down. There is additional information about the subgrenres and tropes they are interested in here.

Epic prefers series submissions, rather than submissions of stories that are intended to stand on their own. They ask that you submit your full manuscript via email. They also want to see a synopsis. Please only submit if you feel like your work is a good fit for them, and that they are the right publishing house for you. Also follow their submission guidelines carefully.

This small press’s motto is “Publishing the Positive”. They were founded in 2016 by Deb Haggerty, whom you can learn more about here. Elk Lake focuses on publishing positive Christian books.
