Jam & Sand: Accepting Submissions Year Round

Jam & Sand is a new electronic literary journal based out of Canada. They are open to international submissions. They publish poetry, flash fiction, and short stories. They also publish interviews, book reviews, and other articles, but they ask that you pitch those first.

They have a beautiful online presence and the images they choose to feature, along with poems, are eerie but surprisingly calm. They regularly publish new work, and the site encourages regular visits.

They are a new press, starting in July 2019, but if you read through the work they’ve posted so far it is easy to get a feel for what they are interested in publishing and what they are not. If your work doesn’t fit their aesthetic, please do not submit.

They allow simultaneous submissions, but they ask that you notify them if your work is accepted elsewhere first. Their response times tend to be under two weeks and they generally have a fast turn around time in terms of publishing work as well.

To learn more visit their submission guidelines here.
