Molecule: Now Seeking Submissions

Molecule is a new online lit mag for 50 word poetry and prose. In the smallest visible particle, there are 50 molecules to each dimension of its cube. In keeping with this, each edition of the biannual journal features work from around 50 contributors. You can download the journal for free to get a sense of what they’re looking for.

Molecule only accepts submissions periodically, and right now through July 15th they’re seeking submissions for their third edition, scheduled for publication in Fall 2020. Submitting authors can expect to hear back by August 15th.

Molecule accepts poetry, fiction, nonfiction, plays, interviews, and reviews. They tend to publish more poetry than prose. All work published in Molecule must be 50 words or fewer, no exceptions. Titles and interview questions are included in the 50 words. Authors may submit up to five pieces in any genre.

All submissions should be accompanied by a third-person bio, 24 words or fewer (that’s the number of atoms in one molecule of caffeine).

Molecule also loves receiving artwork depicting tiny things like toothpicks and teabags. Miniature paintings are also great. They’re not too fond of skyscrapers.

Molecule accepts submissions via email, not online by post. They do not accept previously published work.
