Slashic Horror Press

Slashic Horror Press is an LGBTQ+ horror press. They welcome submissions from allies, but LGBTQ+ voices come first and foremost. They also state that “if you only have a gay character on page 50 and they don’t do anything except re-affirm stereotypes… then you aren’t an ally. ” They are only interested in work that feature LGBTQ+ content, including themes, plot, and characters. If this is not a good fit for you, please do not read further. They also are not interested in any genres outside of adult horror (although they have a YA imprint that is open to submissions here). They are open to all sub-genres within horror and to novella submissions as well as novels. They prefer work between 30,000 and 90,000 words. They are not interested in short story submissions.

They state “Preferred horror sub-genres: slashers, psychological, creature feature/monster (vampires, werewolves, demons etc.), extreme, body, supernatural, cosmic, horrormance, gothic, grief. I don’t shy away from gore“.

Based on their catalog they started actively publishing in 2024. Since then they’ve managed to publish a fairly large number of books, which you can see here. Please spend some time with their catalog as a way of figuring out if they are a good fit for your manuscript or not. I only looked up a few of their titles on GoodReads, but the ones that I saw had between 30 and 60 ratings.

They do editing, but not extensively. They are not open to previously published work, including self-published titles “unless the work has undergone significant rewriting and you’re pitching a re-release“.

They have a zero tolerance policy for AI-generated writing. They try to respond to submissions within six weeks, but please do not rush them.

They will also automatically reject “bestiality, pedophilia, incest, and hate crimes/extremist views without meaningful context for the story.”

This is a very small, primarily one-person operation, so please keep that in mind with submissions.

They have very detailed submission guidelines here. Please read them carefully before submitting. Submissions must be made via email.

They close to submissions on July 31st, 2026.
