Spurl Editions: Now Accepting Manuscript Submissions

Updated June 13th 2024, due to an influx of submissions they are not currently open to submissions.

Their tagline is “publishers of unusual literature”. On their About page they add the additional context, including the context that they are “specializing in works fitting for our current decrepit and apocalyptic world”. They have previously published a wide range of work including French, Italian, and German literature translated to English, as well as surreal memoirs, radical political writing and fiction.

They are based out of Las Vegas Nevada and were established in 2015. They primarily publish only print books. They have one exception, which is published in an eBook format but that is very much not their priority. They want to print good looking books, and while their personal taste differs from mine, the covers are striking and memorable. They are distributed by Asterism.

You can get a feel for what they publish by going here. They clearly have a specific and distinct catalog so please spend time with it and only submit if your work is a good fit.

They are currently open to fiction and translation proposals. They ask that all potential authors familiarize themselves with what Spurl publishes first, and then you can email them a description of your work. Optionally you can add a sample but it should be no longer than 25 pages. All submissions must be made by email

53 Literary Journals Seeking Genre Fiction

53 Literary Journals Seeking Genre Fiction

Most literary journals are interested in literary work, by which they mean, not genre work (although this is changing a little).
